Mike Burke got his start in the trades as a carpenter. He learned the work with his own hands, one job at a time, and he still runs the company that way. The crew he leads brings more than 100 years of combined construction work between them. Over those years they have seen what Denver weather does to a roof. Hail from Front Range storms, heavy snow load and ice dams in winter, hard UV at our high altitude, and freeze-thaw cycles that crack shingles and open up flashing leaks are all normal jobs for this team.

The carpentry background changes how the crew looks at a house. A roof sits on framing, and framing moves. When somebody calls about a brown stain on a bedroom ceiling, the first question is not which shingle to swap out. It is where the water actually got in, how far it ran along the sheathing before it showed itself, and whether the decking under the shingles is still solid enough to nail into. Water often does not enter directly above the spot it ruins. So the team walks the whole roof before putting a number on it, checking valleys, flashing at chimneys and sidewalls, the rubber boots around vent pipes, the gutters, and the attic underneath.

Domingo has served the Filipino American Community of Colorado for years, rising from board director to public relations director and then president, and VR Contractors partners with the group on cultural and community events.
